The light of the moon guides the way in Virpi Pahkinen's anniversary work, a tribute to the power of dance.
Dancing along a moonlit path towards the unknown, she is joined by her recurring dance partner Pontus Sundset. With power, light and beauty, they portray the great mystery of life in a poetic protest against the stress of modern life.
Virpi Pahkinen wants to offer her audience an alternative to the paradoxical desire to rush everything and live forever at the same time. But not only through dance. Before Virpi chose her path in life, she studied piano at the conservatory in Helsinki. In Virpi Lunaire, she may sit at the grand piano again.
Virpi Lunaire is a guest performance by the Virpi Pahkinen Dance Company. Touring with the Riksteatern in spring 2026. The guest performance is a collaboration between Regionteatern Blekinge Kronoberg, Riksteatern Växjö and Riksteatern Blekinge.
