Östersjöfestivalen - Royal Canadian Mounted Police Pipes

Do Events Östersjöfestivalen

Concert at Karlshamn square during Östersjöfestivalen.

Description

The Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) Pipes, Drums and Dancers of the National Division were formed in the spring of 2000.

Dressed in the iconic red serge and unique RCMP tartan, they are one of Canada’s most recognizable music and display bands. The ensemble is made up primarily of dedicated volunteers, but also includes mounted police and civilian employees of the RCMP.

With bagpipes, drums and traditional highland dancing, they create an atmosphere that is both impressive and touching. Throughout the year, they participate in everything from charity events, festivals and parades to fairs, sporting events and cultural ceremonies. At the same time, they play an important role in state holidays, official ceremonies and the RCMP’s own ceremonial missions.

Each performance is a colourful combination of Canadian pride, Scottish traditions and musical skill – an experience that leaves a lasting impression on the audience.
