Description
The program features Benjamin Britten’s explosive Young Apollo for piano and string orchestra, as well as his surreal, dreamlike emotional journey in the song cycle Les Illuminations, the beautiful moonlight of Claude Debussy’s Claire de lune, and his wistful and evocative Forgotten Little Songs in Ariettes oubliées. In between, pieces by Lili Boulanger and Charles Keuchlan will serve as interludes. Conducted by Simon Crawford-Phillips, with Kathrin Lorenzen as the soloist.
