Description

On December 16, the F17 plans to carry out a traditional Christmas tree flight formation with the Jas 39 Gripen.
An excellent opportunity to practice the planning and execution of flying in larger formation for an extended period of time. The flight takes place within the framework of current environmental permits and does not affect other operations.

This year, the Swedish Armed Forces will receive Nordic reinforcement. This will come from the Danish and Finnish air forces, and for the first time, the Jas 39 Gripen E will lead one of the formation flights.

The Christmas tree flying does not involve more flying than normal as it replaces other scheduled flying. With this, the F17 takes the chance to show off in places where they are not seen that often and it is a way for the Air Force and the Armed Forces to wish a Merry Christmas.

In case of bad weather, they will fly on December 17 instead.

Note that these will be approximate times and that times and places may change or not be available at short notice. Any changes will be announced on their Facebook page, see link.
