Cancer Dance
Performance at Lokstallarna.
Cancer Dance is a life-affirming dance performance by choreographer Nadja Hjorton. With humor, warmth and strong physicality, she tells the story of the time when she simultaneously became a theater director and was diagnosed with breast cancer.
The performance moves through fear, loss of control and a changing body, but also through everything that continued to give life meaning: the children, the friends, the TikTok dances in the living room and unexpected moments of joy in the midst of chaos. Cancer Dance is neither a sob story nor a heroic tale – but a close, honest and hilarious tribute to life, even when it chafes the most.
The music is created by Britta Persson, with costumes by Daniel Åkerström Steen and set design by Chrisander Brun.
