Bum Proof 1.0

Bum Proof 1.0 takes its cue from hostile architecture (exclusionary design). The so-called ‘bum-proof’ benches, designed to prevent people from lying down, serve as a concrete starting point. The piece explores how certain bodies are ‘choreographed’ out of spaces through architecture, urban planning and political decisions.

Through contemporary dance, warmth, playful seriousness and elements of acrobatics and physical partnering, the piece explores the absurdity of no longer being able to take up space. The dancers negotiate space alongside benches and other physical objects, which function both as opponents and as surfaces for collaboration.

One Week Wonder is Dans i Blekinge’s project for dancers who are currently undertaking, or have recently completed, their artistic training.

A ticket is required. The performance lasts approximately 30 minutes.
