Workshop during Kulturnatten in Karlshamn
Description
During Kulturnatten in Karlshamn, you are invited to a 90-minute flamenco workshop, an introduction to this traditional Spanish dance.
Flamenco is not just a dance; it is a combination of music, song and movement originating from Andalusia in southern Spain. Its complex rhythms and expressive choreography reflect a rich and long-standing tradition.
During this workshop Jossette Riley will introduce you to flamenco and its different elements. You will get an overview of the history of flamenco, its development through the ages, and its place within the contemporary dance scene.
Intended to be both educational and fun, this workshop provides an introduction to flamenco's most distinctive characteristics, including its rhythmic structure, committed movements and particular musicality. Our workshop is open to anyone interested, regardless of previous experience in flamenco. It's a great opportunity to explore a new dance form, to get an insight into another culture, or just to spend an hour enjoying music and movement.
