Description
After a string of impressive performances, Norwegian soprano Lise Davidsen plays the title role for the first time at the Met. Tenor Freddie De Tommaso makes his Met debut as Tosca's revolutionary lover, Cavardossi, and baritone Quinn Kelsey plays the sadistic police chief Scarpia. Maestro Xian Zhang conducts the music, which contains some of Puccini's most memorable melodies, from the tenor's soaring arias "Recondita armonia" and "E lucevan le stelle" to the thundering choral Te Deum and the soprano's instantly recognizable and heartbreaking "Vissi d'arte."
