The Art museum Martinssonska gården in Karlshamn is open during the summer season and is located on Lotsgatan in a charming neighborhood with old wooden houses.
Opening hours summer 2023: Wednesdays-Sundays at 1-4 pm between 28 June-3 September.
Entrance fee: 30 SEK.
On Lotsgatan, where artist Johnny Martinsson has lived for a long time, three of his artist friends have also spend some time there, namely Oskar Wickström, Thure Wahlström and Per Serre. The works of the four artists are now gathered under the one roof.
Martinssonska gården is located in the old part of the wooden house quarter in Karlshamn. The house dating back to the early 19th century has been carefully restored and includes a farmhouse from the 18th century. There is also a courtyard with old cobblestone and a lush garden. Here the visitor experiences modern art framed in lush greenery, a piece of cultural history, together with an enriching artistic experience.
The museum shows Johnny Martinsson's sculptures, as well as painting and graphic works by Oskar Wickström, Thure Wahlström and Per Serre.
